Our Unique Club Membership

The Barwon Grove Golf Club AKA The Tin Shed is a unique Golf Club. We actually don’t have a home course on site, nor do we have a practice putting green or driving range. What we do have however is access to one of Australia’s finest golf course The Barwon Heads Golf Club. With an agreement in place that dates back 60 years we have access to BHGC on Sunday morning. Combine this with our own Golf-link Handicap System and yearly playing Syllabus, we hold monthly competitions throughout the year.

The Golf Club has a long and proud history of holding competitions on a weekly, monthly and years basis with a lot of great golfers coming through the doors.

The club often organises speciality golf days, trips and competitions with club members jumping at the opportunity to go out and explore some great golf courses Victoria has to offer. Some recent trips include Moonah Links Golf Club, Port Fairy Golf Club and Eynesbury Golf Club.

We now have 3 main competitions that run throughout the year which are played on the last day of the month. This allows Golfers the flexibility to be able to participate whilst also still been able to be family focused and enjoy everything that Barwon Heads and Surronds has to offer. All other weekends throughout the year are social play with novelty events thrown in to keep things interesting.

If you already have a home club and a Golflink #, we have away golf memberships available also. This will allow you to participate in club organised competitions and events.

Note From The Golf Captain

Welcome to all golfers for the 2022 season. It’s shaping up to be a great year of golf. Numbers are as strong as they have been in a number of years. We currently have 50 paid-up financial golf members.

We have changed the format a little for this coming year to reflect the golfing numbers currently entering our competitions, 2022 season will see a streamlined number of events, we have been very mindful to carry on with our club’s history and this is reflected with the naming of these events. We will have 3 competitions throughout the season the HANLEY MEMORIAL SUMMER CUP, THE TIN SHED HANDICAP CAHAMPIONSHIP and THE McCARTHY MEMORIAL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP. The new syllabus is posted on the notice board and on the website.

It has been decided that all our competitions will be played under the Stableford scoring format and all competition events will be played at the Barwon Heads Golf Club – Please note that if you cannot get on at the course due to no spots being available and you play an alternate course your scores for that round will be acceptable for that day’s competition. (Weekend rounds only, no weekday events)

Our tee times at Barwon Heads Golf Club are between 7 am & 8 am (earlier in the summer months). Please see the attached method to enable you to book a tee time at Barwon Heads Golf Club.
